News Crafty Ideas for your Old Festival Wristbands

August 11th, 2017

For many, letting go of a festival wristband is like cutting off a limb – but the smelly grubby look is not ideal. But these festival wristbands don’t just carry germs – they carry memories. Looking down at your wristband reminds you of the time you woke up at 8am because of the light blaring through your tent and cracked open a can of warm cider for breakfast and looked forward to a day of drinking and dancing to the music of your favourite bands. Here are some of the ways you can hold onto the memories but not the germs (or smell):

Use Your Festival Wristband as a Car Accessory

Another accessory use for your wristband could be within your car. Just simply attach to your rearview mirror alongside your air freshener and you will never forget your favourite Glastonbury (or the time it took you 10 hours to drive there).

A Brand New Keychain

Festival wristbands are easily attachable to the netl keychain loop on your keys. They will help brighten up your keys and remind you of your fave festival memories wherever you go. This new use for your wristband will cost nothing but still keep your fond memories alive.

Frame Your Memories

Framing your festival wristband will ensure that it is preserved from (further) germ and weather contamination. Placing them in a frame will put them pride of place hung up in your home for all to see. You may also want to place thim within a collage of photos from that particular festival. Or you could stick to having a wristband exclusive frame if you are a regular festival goer.

Scrapbook Your Experience

If you’re a keen photographer that documents every moment of your festivals then you may want to create a scrapbook or photo album for these memories. Your festival wristband will be a great addition to this, easily glued or taped onto the page. Something you can keep and look back on for years to come or add to with every new festival you attend.

Use as an Ornament

If you want to commemorate your favourite festivals all year round then incorporating your wristbands into festive ornaments is ideal. This craft project seem daunting but is so easy, anyone can do it. Simply purchase a clear ornament with a removable metal cap, stuff your wristbands in and hey presto! You can then choose to decorate the outside or leave clear for a view of your wristbands. Hang the ornament from your Christmas tree or anywhere in your home such as kitchen cupboard handles. They can be hung with a simple ribbon or even  another festival wristband if you want to get creative.
